I have breast cancer-stage III-w/BRCA2 mutated gene. I have to have a complete hystorectomey this Friday??
3/28/08 ? I am only 34 years old!. Since I will no longer have my ovaries, tubes and uteris, I won?t have any hormones, and because of the breast cancer, I obviously won?t get hormone therapy! Does anyone have any alternative ? i.e. herbal -medicines that they can suggest to take for hot/cold flashes? Since chemo, I have been going through them already, but my mom told me it WILL get worse! I?ve been through hell and back and I?m trying to lessen my symtoms as much as possible! I am going to have to have my other breast removed next year because of my gene mutation to ensure the breast cancer not coming back,,,, and hopefully the chemo/radition therapy stopped the cancer traveling through my lyphnodes.

My mother had this same problems as you in the 1950?s 60?s and she died in 72. Back then they did not have the knowledge they have today.. I pray for your recovery. I have faith you will.
There are special herbs in the health food stores? My mother had cancer, over, and over again. She told me before she died, never to take hormones, as they will lead to an increase in cancer.. So I?m 60 and i still have my complete reproductive organs. I?ve gone through the hot flashes and look old because i don?t use hormone therapy.. I think you?ll be fine just hang in there?
Know that cancer now doesn?t mean death. As I said before my prayers are with you.. I?m going through Hep c virus now myself.. With interferon. Makes me deathly ill. No cure for my condition. I am with you in my heart and soul..

I have breast cancer (grade III). Had chemo and take and aromatase inhibitor to block any remaining hormones. Did have quite a lot of hot sweating, it has subsided to occasionally now (after 3 years). It was at its worst during and for a while after the chemo. so maybe this will settle with time or your Dr can suggest something. I am wary of complementary medicine in this situation in case it affects the therapy you have to take. This may be worse initially after your ovaries are removed. You are having a worse time than me and I feel very sorry. Good Luck.

Ugg, sounds like a terrible mess. I know I?m going to get thumbs down for this, but I don?t care.

I have lost just about all trust in main stream medicine. I will not go to a hospital almost for any reason.

My friend, keep seeking herbal medicines. There is supressed knowledge of things that can actually help you with cancer, as well as numerous other things from alternative health sources.

Some even say that WHOLE GRAIN wheat can even cure cancer. We eat the endosperm of the wheat in all our breads and ignore the germ, bran etc. There are many many things also that cause cancers in our water (fluoride / arsenic) and in artificially sweetened drinks like aspartame / equal / nutrisweet.
