Westside Niners board meeting, registration
The Westside Niners board will meet Monday, Feb. 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the Newman City Council chambers.
Agenda items include uniforms, fund-raising and status reports.
Anybody interested is invited to attend.
The Niners will be hosting youth football and cheer registration Monday, Feb. 20, from 4:30-6:30 at Pizza Plus; Wednesday, March 7, from 6:30-8:30 at Pizza Plus; and Thursday, March 22, from 6:30-8:30 at Pizza Plus.

Recycling used sports equipment
The Newman Recreation Department is collecting gently-used cleats, gloves, bats and bags to be redistributed for baseball, softball and soccer use.
Used sports equipment can be donated at the Newman Youth Center on Hardin Road, which is open weekdays from 2:30-6.
Community members in need of sports equipment are invited to visit the center to see if donated items will meet their needs.

Booster car wash
The Orestimba High Athletic Boosters will sponsor a car wash Saturday, Feb. 18, from 8-3 in the OHS gym parking lot.
Donation is $5.
Proceeds benefit the Orestimba track and field team.
Alliance plans steak, crab dinner
The Newman Youth Sports Alliance will host a steak and all-you-can-eat crab dinner and dance Saturday, Feb. 25, at the War Memorial Building, 247 E. Canal Dr., Turlock.
The evening, which also includes games, drawings and a silent auction, begins with no-host cocktails at 6 p.m.
Proceeds benefit the alliance?s new sports park fund.
Tickets are $35 and may be purchased at Mattos Newspapers or by calling 620-3377.
Bullets poker tournament
The Worth/Westside Bullets Softball Club will host a no-limit Texas hold ?em poker tournament Saturday, Feb. 18, at El Rosal Restaurant, 2985 Renzo Lane, Patterson.
The $60 buy-in includes chips and a Mexican buffet.
Dinner begins at 7 p.m., with the poker tournament to start at 8.

Volleyball open gym
The Newman Recreation Department is sponsoring a volleyball open gym at Orestimba High School.
The free program is open to boys and girls in grades 6-12.
The gym will be open Saturdays through February; and from 6-8 on Feb. 22 and 29.
