Unpaid fines and debt sky high in North

TOWNSVILLE residents owe a staggering $17 million in unpaid debts and fines, one of the highest bills in Queensland.

From failing to pay court orders, to unpaid parking and speeding fines, Townsville has racked up a total of $16,576,317 in debt.

Records released by the State Penalties Enforcement Registry (SPER) show just how much residents are struggling to make ends meet.
